Breaking the Chains of Valentine's Day: The Pressure to Celebrate Love on Command

In a world filled with diverse expressions of love, the annual frenzy surrounding Valentines Day often raises a question: Why do we succumb to the societal pressure of celebrating love on one specific day each year?

The hype surrounding Valentines Day often sets unrealistic expectations, creating unnecessary pressure on individuals to conform to societal norms.

This can lead to disappointment, as reality seldom aligns perfectly with the romanticized ideals.

Advocates often argue that love should be celebrated every day, not just confined to a single date on a calendar. And that love can't be encapsulated within the confines of a 24 hour period.

We the owners here at Grand Avenue Events have a confession to make. Neither Cindy or myself ( Jackie ) celebrate Valentines Day on the actual day.

Cindy and her husband met on February 13th and have since made that day, "their special Valentines Day". My husband and I have always thought that the pressure of having to celebrate on that

"specific" day was not our idea of romance. Therefore we usually choose to celebrate our love the weekend before or after.

We aren't ones to sit in a stuffy restaurant with white tablecloths either.

That's why we are here, to help transform your home into a cozy romantic setting and eliminate the external pressure associated with fancy restaurants and expensive gifts. No matter which day that you choose to celebrate your love we are here to help.

We also want to mention that even though we are in the business of helping couples celebrate love on Valentines Day as well as every other day, we also want to be mindful of those that may not have someone to celebrate with. We realize that this day can induce feelings of loneliness and inadequacy.
